Article Marketing – Why Writing Articles Gets You Ranked High in the Search Engines

Being an internet marketer, I always look for creative and different ways to increase my Search Engine Rankings, specifically in Google. There are several ways to do this for free, but my favorite by far is Article Marketing.

Why is that? Article Marketing allows you to create an article and submit it to hundreds of directories, separated by categories. That in itself would be a great way of getting targeted traffic and backlinks, but it gets better. Once your article is accepted into the directory, webmasters all over the world will be able to take your article and put it on their sites for content. That means your one article will be spread like a wildfire all over the internet, including your resource box that has a link to your website. Ladies and gentleman, this is free promotion at its finest.

To give you a better example of this awesome leverage, I had an article that I submitted less than a year ago, and which today has given me a total of 43 different backlinks in the search engines. I did not have to pay for this advertising. I did not risk hurting my own website by linking to ‘black-hat” websites who participated in Link Farming. This is free way to get your site exposure, build backlinks, and get target traffic. Imagine over the course of the year you do 50 more articles, which give you the same amount of backlinks as the example above. That is over 2,000 unique backlinks you now have to your site. Now of course not all of your articles will generate that many links, you may end up with only 10-15 links, or you may get even hundreds of links off of one article, the point is you should recognize the linking power you have in your hands, by doing only 20-30 minutes of writing.

Now for the marketers who are too lazy or don’t have the time to write new articles to submit, there are several companies that will write them for you (for a fee), and some will even submit them to the directories for you (another fee). Anyway you look at it, you have no excuse not to be using Article Marketing as one of your primary resources to gain traffic.

The more backlinks you get, the more important the search engines think your website is. This results in higher page rank, higher ranking, and ultimately more targeted traffic to your website.
